San Diego Making the Switch to Solar

While you do not need to live in a particularly sunny area to use solar panels, more sunlight does produce more energy. This makes temperate, sunny areas like San Diego excellent environments for solar power. In fact, in a report announced July 2010 by nonprofit Environment California, San Diego is the number one solar city in California. They contribute this to the climate, easy permitting and California Center for Sustainable Energy programs.

Even though the U.S. pioneered the development of solar technology, we have now fallen behind many other countries in the world. Now government has realized that we cannot avoid investing ourselves in this industry much longer The shift away from fossil fuels and nuclear-based energy is becoming more imperative, inevitable and also increasingly affordable. With a steady series of policy changes and research initiatives, there has never been a better time to make the switch to solar. Even the White House will be installing solar panels this coming year.

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, consumers using solar panels or solar water heaters are eligible for a 30 percent tax credit. In addition, many state and local governments have implemented their own incentives such as Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) in California. The Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency provides a comprehensive listing of incentives offered in each state for consumers to educate themselves. Companies like Solaire Energy Systems will often do the work for homeowners by advising them on incentives, filling out government paperwork and providing their own financing options as well.

Consumers should learn about the different forms of solar energy available to them. Photovoltaic cells are one of the most common methods of creating electricity from the sun. When a photovoltaic cell absorbs sunlight, electrons are discharged. The negatively charged electrons migrate, creating negative and positive terminals similar to a battery. Once a circuit is connected, an electrical current is produced and distributed throughout the building. The biggest advantage of this system is its extremely minimal environmental impact, as it requires no water and generates no by-products. Also, returns on investment to the property owner are substantial over time, particularly if you sell excess energy back to the power companies.

If you want to help the environment and save costs on energy, then educate yourself about solar power San Diego.

Solaire Energy Systems meets with California Congressman to push PACE financing forward

SAN DIEGO, CA, September 13, 2010 -- San Diego solar energy firm Solaire Energy Systems met last Friday, September 3rd, with Congressman Bob Filner (D - CA) to garner support for the PACE alternative energy financing program halted earlier this year by the federal government. Seeing the enormous energy and job creation potential in increasing the use of home solar energy systems in California, Congressman Filner and Solaire Owner Jarrod Fisk hope to push PACE financing forward and make solar more affordable for Americans.

PACE, or Property Assessed Clean Energy, helps homeowners finance a solar energy system with a city loan repaid through property taxes over the following twenty years. Implementation of this program would see an enormous increase in the use of home solar energy systems in the future - creating thousands of jobs and promoting the use of clean, green energy. In San Diego, this would also help decrease the strain on the SDGE power grid - reducing the frequency of black-outs and brown-outs.

"Between eight and nine people out of ten that I talked to are interested or want solar," said Fisk in an interview with ABC10 news, "but only two to three actually have the financial wherewithal to pay for it." A financing program like PACE would make solar a viable option for thousands of interested homeowners - as well as allow Solaire to move forward with temporarily halted plans to hire more workers and increase production and installation threefold. Seeing the PACE financing program as an added layer of risk to mortgages, mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have threatened to refuse loans for PACE-financed homes - causing the federal government to put the project on hold.

Congressman Filner hopes to put the program back into motion when congress goes back into session next month. Executives at Solaire hope that this new exposure helps bring attention to California PACE financing and increases its support in the community - significantly increasing its chances of ratification by Congress, making alternative energy more affordable, and supporting the growth of sustainable energy providers like Solaire Energy Systems.

Using the BBB and CSLB to find a solar company that you can trust.

When looking for a company to help with your family's energy needs, it is always a good idea to check with an impartial 3rd party organization to ensure that the company is reputable and trustworthy. 3rd party organizations like the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and the CSLB (California State Licensing Board)check on local companies to gather information and log complaints. This practice allows these organizations the ability to provide a source list of honest, legal and quality companies for the consumer to choose from. One such company, Solaire Energy Systems, is proud to hold exemplary records with both organizations. Over the years, this accomplishment was achieved due to quality workmanship, an excellent customer service department and an ability to follow all state and federal regulatory processes. Check Solaire out at the BBB or at the CSLB's websites today!

Solaire is San Diego's experienced solar installation company

Solaire Energy Systems is happy to again announce that they led their competitors in installations for the week of 3/28. This information was provided by California state's rebate provider, California Solar Initiative, who tracts rebate submittals. When asked to comment owner Jarrod Fisk was quoted saying "Its good to know people are now educated when it comes to solar pricing and quality and choose a company that has two decades of field experience at extremely competitive pricing."

Solaire Energy Systems is happy to announce multiple finance options and solar loans to their new customers allowing them to save thousands now!

Although the PACE finance bill (Property Assessed Clean Energy Bond) has passed in San Diego and in San Diego County the actual start date has been scheduled to start this summer. This finance will help many families in the future be able to acquire low property tax lien oriented financing on photovoltaic solar, hot water solar and pool solar.

However, as time moves on, these families don’t realize that the state rebate is quickly diminishing, losing customers who wait a great deal of the free government incentive capital. For example, this month alone the California rebate dropped from 1.10 a watt to .60 a watt. This may not seem like a lot of money until you realize that an average size system for a photovoltaic solar system is about 4000 watts. The .50 cent difference between the 1.10 a watt and the .60 cent a watt rebate on such a system would of equaled $2000.00!

Luckily, Solaire Energy Systems is now announcing that they have two new Solar Loan options, that, in many cases may even be better than the future PACE financing. The two distinctly different loans boast the following and available now:

1st Option - 18 month same as cash no payments, no interest and no collateral financing for qualified applicants.

2nd Option - 120 percent loan to value, extremely low interest home loan, which can replace an existing first mortgage, a high interest second mortgage and the price of the solar system in one low payment. Qualified Applicants are still eligible for this Solar Loan even if they have Low credit scores!
